Dy Moonsammy / Chairperson  

Dy Moonsammy is the Senior Manager: Learning and Development at Comair Limited, where her responsibilities include the management of Comair’s Cadet Pilot Programme, learnerships, and graduate programmes, as well as oversight of a Learning Academy that serves indigent learners. Dy is the Vice-President of the Association of African Aviation Training Organisations (AATO), a UN-ICAO mandated initiative responsible for the standardising and harmonising of training material for all African aviation training organisations. She is the Airlines Association of Southern Africa’s (AASA) representative on the Aviation Chamber Committee of Transport Education Training Authority (TETA); an adjunct lecturer at the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS); sits on the Advisory Board of the Durban University of Technology’s (DUT) Tourism Department; and is a registered psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa

Donald Schenk / Deputy Chairperson 

Donald Schenk is the Chairman and CEO of ACA Associates, Inc. a New York-based strategic planning and financial advisory firm focused on the aviation industry. Donald was a Managing Director in the aviation unit of Bankers Trust prior to founding ACA Associates. He is a member of the New York Wings Club; sits on the board of Bainbridge Community Foundation; sits on the Finance Committee of Benaroya Research Institute, a scientific institution that is focused on autoimmune diseases; and also sits on the board of the Kossoye Development Project, which helps the people of Ethiopia in their efforts to improve health, lifelong learning, and food security. Donald is the person who created Wonders of Aviation.

Vees Lochan / Treasurer 

Vivendra (Vees) Lochan has gained extensive knowledge and experience in the aviation industry having been in the industry in excess of 35 years. He has spent considerable amount of time at South African Airways (SAA) where he has held positions in Sales and Marketing, Africa Route Management Division and headed SAA offices in the Middle East & Gulf as well the Indian Sub-continent. In August 2010, Vees joined the Airlines Association of Southern Africa (AASA) as Chief Operating Officer. AASA is the SADC airline representative association dealing with strategic, aeropolitical, regulatory, policy, financial and operational issues affecting its members. He represents AASA and its membership on regulatory committees and industry forums. Vees is an Alternate Director and Chairperson of the Audit Committee of Aviation Coordination Services (Pty) Ltd, a company responsible for several airport services managed on behalf of all airlines operating in South Africa. 

The Minister of Transport (South Africa) MS Dipuo Peters appointed Mr. Lochan on 28 January 2015 to serve as a member on the Transport Sector Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment Charter Council representing the Domestic Aviation sub-sector. 

Vees holds a B.Com as well as a MBA from the University of Durban-Westville.

Daniel Ralefeta / Executive Member 

Daniel Ralefeta is an avid IT specialist, trainer and aviator, who is highly commended in the South African government ICT strategic development for political bearers and civil servants alike. His IT skills are  utilised by the State Information Technology Agency’s (SITA) key projects to ensure maximum input into the uplifting of ICT skills for previously disadvantaged communities (PDC) through the CSR developments, GovTech and other strategic exhibitions. As chairman of the AeroClub of South Africa Transformation and Development, Daniel oversees the development of aviation enthusiasts through model flying, glider pilot training and the achievement of a private pilot license. Daniel has a wide network of significant role players in the IT and aviation industry, and uses these networks to give back to the PDC.
